IntechnologySmartCities head to Smart City Expo to showcase health and social care tech
IntechnologySmartCities is to showcase the latest innovations in health and social care at the Smart City Expo World Congress, the world’s largest gathering for policymakers in future urban development, 19-21 November.
We will be joining the Leeds City Region delegation for the event in Barcelona, which is expected to attract 20,000 delegates from 700 cities worldwide.
Peter Wilkinson, our founder and chief executive, said:
“We are delighted to be joining the Leeds City Region delegation and proud to be flying the flag for our home market at the Smart City Expo.
“We have a long and proud history of inventing and delivering technology that has the power to transform people’s lives.
“The Leeds City Region has a great opportunity to be the best connected urban area in the world for the benefit of its citizens and businesses.”
As specialists in the Smart City space, the significant expertise and experience we have developed in helping local authorities to deliver better public services for less money since 2013 made us well placed to contribute to the Barcelona event. The free public WiFi networks in towns and cities across the UK to boost digital inclusion and support the growth of the digital economy and has grown a base of more than 1.7m registered users, as well as a platform to deliver IoT-enabled, sensor-driven innovations and improvements across an array of sectors. Improving quality of life for residents and businesses, our IntechIoT platform was designed to add social value, increase sustainability and protect the environment.
Roger Marsh OBE DL, chair of the Leeds City Region Partnership (LEP) and NP11, said:
“It’s great that Intechnology is joining our delegation of more than 60 representatives from the public and private sector to promote the region on the international stage. Together we can demonstrate how tech is creating opportunities to transform lives, whether by creating jobs, improving health or making our towns and cities better places to live.”
IntechnologySmartCities’ team in Barcelona will be able to point to a number of case studies in previous successful deployments, which include the UK’s largest free public WiFi service in Edinburgh, a city-wide IoT network in Coventry, which will be the first truly connected UK City of Culture, and 5G-equivalent networks in market towns like Wetherby in West Yorkshire.
